Four units of Fire Brigade at scene of major fire at ESB substation
Dublin Fire Brigade is at the scene of an underground blaze at an ESB substation in Dublin City Centre.
The fire service has confirmed that they have four units at the scene of an underground fire just off Baggot St Lower in Dublin's South inner city.
A District officer is also at the scene and they are awaiting the arrival of ESB Networks before work can begin.
Heavy traffic delays are expected in the area.
Just eight days ago €10million worth of damage was caused when thieves attempting to rob copper wire from an ESB substation in Inchicore, Dublin 8 sparked a major blaze.
Shortly before 1.30pm Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted that the Baggot St fire is now under control. ESB networks is now moving in to assess the situation.
