Human Ken doll's' rotting nose saved after doctors operate to remove flesh-eating bug

Rodrigo Alves was horrified when an infection started on his nose and caused damage to his doll-like looks

A human 'Ken doll' who had surgery to look like Barbie's boyfriend has thanked doctors who saved his nose from a flesh-eating bug.

Rodrigo Alves, who is known as the 'Human Ken doll', went under the knife to fulfill his dream of doll-like features, but following his latest cosmetic procedure, an infection started started which could have threatened his look.

The 32-year-old, who lives in the UK, was in the south Spanish region of Andalusia when he was taken in for emergency surgery in Malaga .

The Spanish doctors that treated the infection removed the dead tissue then carried out emergency surgery to repair the damage to his nose.

After having returned to the UK see his GP, he has now gone back to Spain.

Following the successful treatment, he has now written a note on social media to thank followers for all their support.

He said: "I just want to thank you so much for the kind posts, messages and comments! I just want to say that I am very well.

"I have flown from Spain to London to see my GP and now returning to my house in Marbella feeling great and relieved."

He also refused to point the finger of blame, saying: "With any surgery there is a risk. At least I got in trouble on my own expenses and I am not blaming my doctors or anybody else.

"I just have to be strong and wait a few more months until I can have another rhinoplasty.

"I guess some of you might think this Rodrigo guy is crazy, but I am not crazy, I have just got big balls, big personality and I know what I want and I go for it - simple as that. Sitting at home and waiting for a miracle to happen won’t take me anywhere."

In his last post on Instagram, he also defended himself against the critics about his surgeries in the past, and announced that he has already signed a deal for a new TV project.

It’s our way of surviving and your way of supporting us! Thanks!
